Learn how to capture a story in a single image. This session is all about Street documentary photography. Build your confidence when shooting in public places, discover how to improve your composition and how to capture that decisive shot.
What makes a great shot? What to look for when out and about, the human element and how that creates drama. We will look at composition and how waiting for the shot can be an art in itself. This session will cover all that you need to know about taking great photos in the street.
You can use any camera whether it is a DSLR, point and shoot, mobile or tablet camera. All welcome on this fun and informal photography session.

Bespoke photography workshops taught online using Zoom or in-person and completely tailored to you. If you use Zoom you will be sent a recording of your session so that you can access it any time if you need to go over anything again. For in-person sessions, a PDF booklet of the main topic will be sent via email so you can refer back at anytime.
The aim is to give you a better understanding of how the camera works and you will gain an understanding and the confidence to go out and shoot great pictures.
What to expect
In this workshop we will be diving straight into what street photography is all about for when the perfect moment presents itself. I will help to break down the barriers to learning without too much technical jargon!
You will learn the basics rules around street photography, we will look at the urban environment, the people and the elements that help to make a great picture. We will cover some useful hints and tips, such as how to approach people. The aim is to take street photos with your own camera you can be proud of.
I will also provide some PDF handouts with some of the more technical terms, for you to use whenever you like. There will also be photographic examples of things we have touched on during the session.
